Seasons Greetings & Welcome to the Wet Age of Aquarius

December the 21st, 2012 marked the end of the Mayan Calender, which many believed signaled the end of the world but we're still here obviously and in reality nothing particularly out of the ordinary occurred. Another theory however, is that this event symbolizes the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.  With more than 600 flood alerts and warnings, and the inevitable disruption in holiday travel plans for thousands of people, it seems rather ironic that Aquarius is the Water Bearer.
On that note, Perpetual Traveller would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope that you are safe and dry at home or have managed to make your getaway just in time for the holidays.

Global Hotel prices rises in 2012

According to a recent survey conducted by called the Hotel Price Index (HPI), overall the global hospitality sector seems to be recovering with a 4% increase in the first half of 2012. The bad news for Hoteliers is however that average prices remain at 2005 levels.
This is the first time in 5 years that travellers have paid more for their hotel rooms during the first 6 months of the year in all areas of the world. The global 4% rise, compared to the same period the year before, demonstrated that the economic recovery in the hotel industry was well-established.

The HPI only considers prices that people paid for their hotel nights. More specifically here below are some of the results...
Pacific rates up 6%North America up 5%Asia up 4% Latin America up 1%Europe up 1%Middle East up 1%. David Roche, President,, said: “The hotel industry bounced back in the first half of this year from a number of natural and political crises in 2011 and it is encouraging to see growth…

Precession of the Equinoxes

Precession of the Equinoxes 21st December 2012 - Universal Event
Many people associate the 2012 subject with the somewhat dark theory that the Mayan long calendar marks the end of the world by December 21, 2012 through a doomsday or apocalypse circumstance. To survive the coming changes that 2012 will bring about, this kind of doom and gloom belief is precisely the kind of thinking you need to avoid at all costs.

Other people philosophize that 2012 may well bring the 'end of days' however in synergy, as a race we will witness the beginning of what is termed the 'Golden Age' and an astronomical terms the Age of Aquarius.

Moreover, by 2012, many theorize that we may well experience a return of Planet X otherwise known as 'Nibiru' and as such they are seeking to a subsequent means to survive 2012. Additionally, there are those who believe absolutely nothing will occur by December 21, 2012. Who is right?
